Dr. Manmohan Singh

Dr. Manmohan Singh

Manmohan Singh, a silent sage,
Wisdom etched on history's page,
A scholar's mind, a gentle soul,
Steered a nation toward its goal.

From Punjab's plains to global halls,
He heard the struggling nation's calls,
Reforms he penned, the chains unbound,
In quiet deeds, his strength was found.

The architect of liberal change,
Through storms of doubt, he would arrange,
An economy once on its knees,
He gave it wings, a chance to seize.

Soft-spoken leader, yet so strong,
In humility, he marched along,
Not seeking glory, nor loud acclaim,
But etched forever is his name.

Integrity his guiding star,
A light that shone both near and far,
Manmohan Singh, a guiding flame,
In India's heart, you'll stay the same.

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

Born in Rameswaram, by the ocean's embrace,
A humble boy with dreams to chase,
With books as his wings, he learned to soar,
Through skies of knowledge, he yearned for more,
A curious mind with a spark divine,
He turned his life into a guiding sign.

As a scientist, he lit the nation's fire,
Rocketing India’s dreams ever higher,
From SLV to Agni, he paved the way,
For a future bright, like the break of day,
In space and defense, he carved his name,
A visionary's journey to eternal fame.

In Rashtrapati Bhavan, his heart remained,
With the common people, his love unchained,
The “Missile Man” turned a guiding star,
Teaching values that reach afar,
With words of wisdom, he nurtured youth,
Inspiring them with hope and truth.

He carried no riches, sought no throne,
Yet touched every life as if his own,
A simple soul, yet a giant in deed,
Planting in hearts the knowledge seed,
Through his books, his voice still sings,
Of dreams and courage, and infinite wings.

When he left, the heavens did cry,
For their beloved son had returned to the sky,
Yet on Earth, his spirit remains,
In every mind that breaks its chains,
Dr. Kalam, a beacon so bright,
A guiding flame in the darkest night.

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar

In the heart of India, a voice arose,
From the shadows of caste and its ancient woes,
Born in Mhow, a child of pain,
Injustice burned like an endless chain,
Yet he carried a fire, a resolute will,
To shatter the walls, to climb the hill.
Denied by society, he sought the skies,
Through books and knowledge, he did rise.
A scholar, a thinker, a force so bold,
In his hands, the future began to unfold.

To Columbia he went, across the seas,
To learn, to question, to find the keys,
With a mind so sharp, with ideas profound,
He laid his roots in knowledge's ground.
Law and economics became his tools,
Breaking barriers, defying rules.
He returned to a land that called his name,
To challenge a system entrenched in shame.
For equality's cause, he took the lead,
Sowing in hearts the justice seed.

Against the tide, he stood so tall,
Demanding freedom, dignity for all.
The caste-bound chains he vowed to break,
For the rights of millions, his stand he'd take.
In assemblies, his voice was clear,
For the downtrodden, he brought them near.
The Constitution became his lasting art,
Ensuring justice in every part.
With each word he wrote, a nation gained,
Its soul redeemed, its honor retained.

He fought for labor, for land, for rights,
For women’s voices and workers’ plights.
Untouchables found in him a guide,
A leader who stood firmly by their side.
For education, he lit a burning flame,
For empowerment, he reshaped the game.
“No caste, no creed,” his vision rang,
Through India's halls, his ideals sang.
He taught the oppressed to dream, to strive,
To build a world where all can thrive.

When he embraced the Dhamma's call,
He sought a path of peace for all.
Converting to Buddhism, he found a way,
To end the darkness, to bring the day.
The Ashokan Wheel, a symbol anew,
He gave to the flag, with a vision true.
He redefined faith, he reshaped belief,
Guiding millions to find relief.
A warrior for truth, his fight was just,
In his legacy, we place our trust.

Today, his name is a beacon bright,
A symbol of justice, a source of light.
Dr. Ambedkar, the people's guide,
A towering figure, India's pride.
His words inspire, his deeds remain,
A balm for centuries of pain.
From the margins, he rose to the core,
A voice of change forevermore.
In every heart, his dream survives,
A just and equal world where freedom thrives.

Lord Muruga: The Divine Warrior

Lord Muruga: The Divine Warrior

Born of Shiva’s flame, a celestial might,
In the peaks of Kailasa, a radiant light,
With six faces and wisdom profound,
The universe echoed his sacred sound.
Muruga, the lord of valor and grace,
In his presence, darkness finds no place.

Kartikeya, by many names he is known,
On peacock he rides, to evil dethrone.
His spear, the Vel, shines bright and pure,
A symbol of power, a tool to cure.
With Valli and Deivanai by his side,
He reigns as protector, a cosmic guide.

In Palani’s hills, his presence abides,
A haven of faith where devotion resides.
He shed his ornaments, embraced the earth,
Showing the path to inner worth.
A child, a warrior, a sage so wise,
In Muruga’s love, the spirit flies.

At Tiruchendur, where the waves embrace,
He fought Surapadman with divine grace.
A protector of dharma, a slayer of sin,
With every battle, his devotees win.
His temple stands, a beacon of light,
Drawing pilgrims day and night.

In Thirupparankundram, his blessings flow,
Where celestial energies eternally glow.
The marriage of Muruga, a divine tale,
A bond of love that will never pale.
His devotees chant with hearts so wide,
“Muruga, Muruga,” their eternal guide.

Kavadi bearers with faith so deep,
Walk miles in penance, promises to keep.
In songs of Tamil, his glory is sung,
In every syllable, his praises are rung.
The Skanda Shasti reminds his might,
A triumph of dharma over the night.

In Swamimalai, he taught his sire,
The Pranava mantra, a truth so dire.
Wisdom flows from his youthful form,
Guiding souls through life’s storm.
He is knowledge, he is strength, he is peace,
A lord whose blessings never cease.

Oh Muruga, Lord of eternal flame,
The heavens resound with your holy name.
With Vel in hand, you lead the way,
Dispersing darkness, bringing the day.
In every heart, your light does reside,
An everlasting, sacred guide.

Kalaigar Centenary Library

Kalaigar Centenary Library

Amidst Madurai's ancient grace and charm,
Stands a library that shields minds from harm,
Kalaigar Centenary Library, a treasure untold,
A haven of knowledge, where stories unfold.

Named for a leader who championed the way,
Whose vision and values continue to sway,
Centenary Library stands as a beacon so bright,
A space where learning takes its flight.

With shelves that stretch like a forest of thought,
A world of books, to be endlessly sought,
From history's pages to science's realm,
Kalaigar Library holds wisdom's helm.

In its hallowed halls, quiet echoes of pages turn,
As seekers of truth, in earnest, yearn,
To uncover the secrets of ages past,
In the corridors of knowledge that forever last.

Art and culture in exhibitions shine,
In Kalaigar Library, creativity entwines,
A canvas where talents and stories unite,
A place where culture's facets takes flight.

Modern resources, digital pathways wide,
In Anna Library's embrace, knowledge is guide,
From research to leisure, its offerings span,
A modern hub for the curious to scan.

Lectures and workshops that ignite thought's fire,
A place where intellects of all ages aspire,
Conversations and debates that minds engage,
In Kalaigar's halls, ideas freely stage.

Children and adults, side by side,
In its expanse, knowledge and dreams coincide,
Kalaigar Centenary Library, a sanctuary so grand,
Where learning is nurtured by a visionary hand.

Oh, Kalaigar Centenary Library, a jewel in Madurai's crown,
A space where knowledge and wisdom resound,
In your embrace, minds are nurtured and blessed,
A testament to learning, a place of success.

Kolli Hills (a poem)

Kolli Hills

In the heart of Tamil Nadu, a hidden treasure lies,
Kolli Hills, a sanctuary beneath azure skies.
Rising like emerald jewels from the land,
A haven of beauty, nature's hand in hand.

Misty mornings cloak the hills in a gentle embrace,
As sunbeams weave through, a serene grace.
Kolli's charm, in the dawn's tender kiss,
A symphony of serenity, a tranquil bliss.

Agaya Gangai, a waterfall's song,
Dancing down the hills, a cascade so strong.
A magical spectacle, where dreams unite,
Kolli Hills' beauty, a wondrous sight.

Trekking trails wind through forests green,
Where nature's wonders remain unseen.
Arappaleeswarar Temple, a cultural gem,
Echoes of history, devotion's anthem.

Boat House Lake's waters reflect the skies,
A mirror of dreams where joy never dies.
Flora and fauna, a harmonious blend,
Kolli Hills' magic, a paradise to spend.

Botanical gardens in splendor bloom,
A canvas of colors that chase away gloom.
Tea estates on hills, a sight to behold,
Kolli Hills' stories, in each leaf, they're told.

From Seekuparai's view to Selur's charm,
Kolli Hills' treasures, a mystical arm.
A sanctuary of peace, where souls retreat,
In these hills, life's rhythm finds its beat.

Kolli Hills, a secret haven untamed,
With every ridge and valley, a story framed.
Nature's serenade, a melody so sweet,
In these hills, where earth and heaven meet.
