Pongal Festival

           Pongal Festival

In the heart of Tamil Nadu's embrace,
A festival of harvest, joy we chase.
Pongal, a celebration, vibrant and bright,
A symphony of traditions, a pure delight.

As the winter's grip starts to wane,
Fields of gold and green regain.
Pongal marks this abundance profound,
Gratitude and merriment all around.

Homes adorned with Kolams, intricate and true,
Flowers and colors, in patterns they imbue.
The clay pot boils with rice and milk,
Symbol of prosperity, dressed in silk.

Sugarcane, turmeric, and coconut strands,
Decorate homes with skilled hands.
Pongal's feast, a culinary treasure,
Flavors dance, pleasures beyond measure.

Tamils gather 'round with hearts full of cheer,
For family, friends, and blessings sincere.
Together they cook, and together they eat,
Unity and togetherness, life's sweetest treat.

The Mattu Pongal, a day for the cow,
A symbol of wealth, hard work's vow.
Cows adorned with flowers, garlands grand,
Honored and cherished, in the fertile land.

Jallikattu's roar, a cultural dance,
A daring spectacle, a thrilling chance.
The bull and the brave, a bond they share,
A tradition carried with utmost care.

Pongal's essence, more than rituals alone,
It's the warmth of homecoming, love that's shown.
A celebration of life, gratitude's flow,
Pongal's spirit in Tamil hearts will glow.
